Project Life 2016: Week 2

Two spreads in two days - yay! I'm happy to be getting caught up with 2016. Once I am caught up, I hope to start working on 2011.

I finished 2010 on the day of the Super Bowl so that I could order pages during a sale. I may still end up posting the pages here. I ended up completing 2010 (!!!) and ordered all of that year and the second half of 2015. What a huge accomplishment!

Project Life 2016: Cover Page and Week 1

Welcome to Project Life 2016! Yay!
For my cover pages in the past, I've used our family picture that I sent out in our Christmas cards. This year I decided to change that and use pictures from the first week in January during a family walk. I wanted to have individual shots as well. These are just photos taken with my phone, so everything isn't perfect with them or the lighting, but it works and I'm happy with it.

I've done some Q&A things before but not in a long time. So I thought it would be cool to include our current favorites on the cover page of 2016. It was fun seeing what each other picked and the similarities between people. Some of us had a hard time picking just one thing, but I just encouraged them (and me!) to just pick their current favorite.

I'm sticking with the same templates as in prior years because I like the rounded corner look, I'll be using lots of Ali Edward's word art since it's still a favorite, I'm using Paislee Press's "This Week" word art for my weekly countdown, and plan to use Paislee Press's paper kits as well. Other than that, I don't like to be too boxed in case I'm feeling something different one week than another.

One change that's kind of big to me is the format of my weeks. For 2010, 2014, and 2015, my weeks have gone Sunday-Saturday, just like a calendar. I thought that since that's how a calendar works, I'll do it that way. But lots of times our weekends were broken up. We would do something as a family Friday-Sunday, but Sunday had to be in the next week's spread. That bugged me but I just chalked it up to it being the way a "normal" week works. But THIS year, I'm changing that. My weeks will be Monday-Sunday so that I can include the full weekend in a spread.

Project Life 2015: Week 53 (Say what?!)

Week 53? Say what? Oh, trust me, I said "what?!" too! I was typing out my weeks and dates for my 2016 check list and things just weren't adding up at the end of the year. So I looked in to it and learned something new.

#1: Some years have 53 weeks (2015 was one of them)
#2: The first week of the year includes either January 4 or the first Tuesday of the year

In case you caught it, I did have this (almost) same spread as my 2016 week 1. But I removed it, changed things around, and added in a day. Now it's week 53!

Project Life 2015: Week 52

Wow. 2015 is completely scrapped! It's really amazing to think about. I'm sooo thankful that I was introduced to this method of scrapbooking (THANK YOU, Christina!!). I love being able to have a whole year of pictures in an album. Sometimes I wonder if it's too many pictures and if I should do monthly spreads instead of weekly, but with all the life we live and since this is the only form of scrapbooking I do now, weekly works great. And it helps that I love it.

I'm a touch behind in starting my 2016 album, but I look forward to starting that this week. And once I'm caught up, I'll keep working on catching up on the years I'm behind on. But I don't have to think about 2014 and 2015 because they are complete! Yay! Yay! Yay!

Now here are the final two spreads for 2015. Christmas normally needs two spreads since I like to include a lot of pictures. I thank the Lord for such a full year and all that He's seen us through and blessed us with. Wow! All good things come from Him!

Project Life 2015: Week 51

This week included chicken pox, warmer than normal weather, and peanut blossoms. I'm happy that the chicken pox are over and sad that the peanut blossoms are gone.

Project Life 2015: Week 50

One of my favorite times of year to scrapbook is Christmas because I love the Christmas papers. Just two more weeks of 2015 left to scrap!

Project Life 2015: Week 49

Only a couple more weeks of 2015 to scrap! That's exciting!

This week has two spreads because Titus turned 10 year old! My oldest is now in double digits.

Project Life 2015: Week 48

This was a full and fun week requiring two spreads - it included Thanksgiving and an early 10th birthday after all.

Amazingly, there are only four weeks left of 2015 for me to scrapbook!

Thanks to Elisabeth and Kendell, I had more pictures to use for Thanksgiving including some fun panoramas. I didn't do a good job of capturing what was going on and when I saw others taking pictures, I just asked if they'd share them with me and then it all came together. I like that!

Project Life 2015: Week 47

This week goes from Leah thinking it'll never snow to us getting 10.5-12 inches of snow. Lovely!

Project Life 2015: Week 46

Another week to revel in all the blessings I have.

Project Life 2015: Week 45

I'm happy to have been able to get some scrapping done. I've missed it!

Project Life 2015: Week 44

This week was a little odd for me to scrap because I didn't have loads of pictures and there aren't any of me or Brandon. I read once that you should include every family member or a family picture each spread, but that doesn't always happen. So I go with what I have!

Project Life 2015: Week 43

Nine more weeks of scrapbooking to complete 2015! Wow! I've been slowly thinking about font and date changes for 2016. I'm not quite sure what I want. I end up mixing some of the same things from past designs or ideas as I go through the year. So I have a few more weeks to think about it and look around at what others have done.

Project Life 2015: Week 42

As I type this post, it's 3:36pm and it's been snowing since at least 8am! We have a good six inches of snow. Everything is covered in white and you can't see very far. It's soooo beautiful!

As I was getting the photos ready for this week, I realized how many I had! And since I was having a hard time leaving certain ones out, I did two spreads. To some that might be excessive, but since it includes great family time, and since this is the only way I scrapbook now, it had to be done. ;) Enjoy!
