Monday, Part 1 - 09.29.08

Christina posted an idea from Ali Edwards blog about doing "A Week in the Life" project. I decided to jump on board since I had never done anything like this. I wasn't sure what to really take pictures of and if they would be too boring, but hey, these are pictures into my daily life.

Getting some coffee before the kids wake up.

My morning devotional.

The kids Fruity Pebble cereal.

Monday, Part 2

Bath supplies. Plus, every Monday I cut the kids finger nails. Their shampoo smells soooo good!!

Leah grabbing the water. I love how water drops look in a picture!

Monday is my laundry day and this is our laundry room right outside our apartment door.

My messy kitchen after breakfast and the night before. The dishes are done at night 99% of the time, but we got back from being away and I didn't do anything once we got home.

Monday, Part 3

Titus asked if he could color so I thought it was a good opportunity to take pictures. I also saved their paper and will scrap it for this day.

Monday is my cleaning day.

I read about taking a picture of yourself everyday. I don't care for this one, but I guess that's Monday for ya!

A Year of Mornings

I was watching the Martha Stewart show the other day and it was all about blogs. They showcased different bloggers and what they posted. There was one that I thought was really cool. It was about two women who were friends who lived 3,191 miles apart: one lived on the west coast and one lived on the east coast. Each morning, they would take a picture of something from around them..food, furniture, whatever. Then later on in the day, they would post them and to their surprise, many times they posted things that went perfect together...theme, color, etc. I thought it was so neat. They actually wrote a book called "A Year of Mornings" that shows the pictures they took and what they look like side by side. Below are a couple of links to view on the book and their blog.

The book: "A Year of Mornings"

Their blog about "A Year of Evenings"

Do you know where the word "blog" came from? Web + Log = Blog

Grandparents

Once again, I used scrap paper and the back sides. I got the circle idea from Christina.

Trash ----> Treasure

I'm pretty much down to scrap paper ("scrap" as in, leftovers) or paper I don't like. So, it gave me a little challenge in creating something I liked. There was a little left on one side, so I cut a strip off.

I haven't been able to use this paper since I bought it. It never went with anything in a way that I liked. Then today, I realized the back of the paper was a pale green! So with the strip from the one flowered paper and the back of this paper, I started creating.

Final result. I cut down the blue/purple paper to a size I wanted and then printed on it. I was going to use ribbon but I ended up just using thin black strips of paper for the little accents. I really like how this page turned out. It can be fun - with a good attitude - to create something out of scraps or something you thought you didn't like. This layout is actually a combo of two of Christina's pages...using one word ("two") and "crooked" pictures. I'm so thankful for people who come up with great ideas and that scrap lifting is legal!!

This is just a view of my scrapping area. Ha! It's actually quite "cozy" once you're into it. Someday I hope to have my own scrap room.
