Organization!!

I HATE having stuff laying around. For quite a while now, I've had a box of magazines and those four boxes you see in the corner sitting there for a long time because it was easily accessible. Well, I was getting rid of some OLD scrap stuff like stickers and all that from an OLD back pack I used to always keep my stuff in. I remembered I had this tote under our bed that hardly anything was in including four smaller totes that all fit inside. So I took those couple things out, gave them a new home (some in the trash) and used those totes for my scrapping stuff! The small clear tote was what my flowers were in until tonight. You can now see the one that's twice the size. Believe it or not, the small blue one, the small green one and the big blue one was all in the small clear tote! Haha! Craziness, I know. I had extra pictures that were able to go in the larger green one. I'll have to sort through those sometime soon. But I have another box of real old pics that I have to go through and figure out what I'm going to do with.

Here you can see how these totes fit inside the bigger one. Two have to stay out, but that's ok!

I moved everything that was in "my corner" to under the bed and out of sight - not to mention ALL ORGANIZED! It's such a good feeling to get rid of things you know you're not going to use and be able to have plenty of room for the newer and "always used" items. (The bed skirt and comforter were pulled up, so it doesn't look quite like this. Ha!)

Index Print Options

Here is the original index print in color. The quality and color aren't good through Kodak. I use www.yorkphoto.com for printing my pictures. Anyhow, I scanned in this index and could just get it printed through York like a normal picture. I always have my memory card put on a cd. I only save pictures on my computer until they are put in a scrapbook. I don't like thinking they could get deleted somehow!

With using Picasa, I changed it to black and white.

Also using Picasa, changed it to Sepia. Just some options for the previous post idea.

Great Idea!

I was flipping through a Creating Keepsakes magazine someone gave me and I came across this page idea. As I'm working on Leah's book, I'm realizing just how many pictures I have. I've been trying to figure out which pictures I will and won't use since I take 50-100 per month! Titus just has one first year book, but at this rate, Leah will have two! I know people say that the more children you have, the less pictures you take, but that's not how it works in this Smith house! BUT...this is a great way to use those pictures and not have to throw out certain ones to conserve space in a scrapbook! If my counting is correct, this page hold 47 index print pictures. I've got a little playing around to do, but you can either have your index prints in color or black and white. I use my index prints when I scrapbook to stay on track and figure out the dates, but I can get copies of them and do pages like this! I'm REALLY excited about trying this out! I'll be sure to post it when I do. It's just so nice to know that I now can use all my pictures rather than picking through certain ones and leaving some out - just by using the index cards!

2 Saturday Pages

This was another page that I was stuck on. I waited a couple days and again, completely changed everything. It might get old to some people, but I like combining different papers like this. And, I've liked a new way of cutting my own flowers. I first cut a circle and then put pie shapes out of them. Super easy!

I was going to use the flowery paper for the background page, but it wasn't working for me. It was too busy. So I tried the pictures on black and still using that flower paper, just not as much. I've never used arrows before, so this was a first. I think the black makes the pictures pop more.

Thank God for CHANGE!

This was a book that, I think, I made in 2006 of my pregnancy for Titus. I can't get over it! First off, these pages were done on the Creative Memory style pages. I had never put them in a book because I wasn't too fond of them and I didn't want to really buy an "old school" book for them. Tonight I decided to cut off the sides of the pages and put them in an extra top loading book I had. I'm really glad I was able to put them in a book. It's funny to look back at pages and books we've done in the past and realize how far we've come! I won't be changing anything in this book or any previous books I've done this way because that was me "back in the day" - like it or not. Ha! To read anything or see anything on the pages closer, just click on the picture!

Wednesday Page

Yup, this was ALL I did today. I really liked the patterned paper (the big circle), but it wasn't working, again, as the background page. So I really cut into it! All of the flowers and the blue paper are from that one piece. I like this page a lot because it's different and it was fun trying to figure out what I could get out of one piece of paper.

Tuesday Pages

I tried using a rub-on over the picture and paper and it worked out pretty good. I can't quite tell if this page is missing something or not.

I just had more pictures printed, and these somehow didn't make it in the first batch or Leah's newborn pics. So it's a little out of order, but the page needed to be done anyway.

Monday Page

This page is a little different. There wasn't any black in the paper, but I sort of tied in the ink and the black from the pictures. Ha! It's black ribbon if you look closely.

3 Pages

I liked the flower paper, but it wasn't working for me as the back page. So I used the solid and then cut the patterned paper and used both sides (the green and the flowers).

Funny - 03.11.08

I do my scrapping while the kids are napping. However, Leah woke up and I still wasn't finished. So I put her in the laundry basket with some toys to see how long that would last.

So cute!

She's starting early! Haha! I had to take the paper away because she kept reaching for more and bending them.

New Blogspot!

I've decided to create a blogspot JUST for my scrapbook pages. I truly enjoy scrapbooking and learning new ways to scrap and new embellishments to use. I will be posting new pages just as soon as I make them. Until then, keep your eyes peeled!
