Project Life 2019: Weeks 7-8

Wow. It's been a while! But here I am! Being 28 weeks behind (!!!) is a little intimidating, but I know I can catch up. However, I feel like I keep saying that. Ha! Either way, I'm committed to seeing it through.

The other day when looking through photos to print for my kid's co-op class, Titus thanked me for documenting our life. Heart. Melt. I'm not the only one who loves looking back.

When I'm consistent in scrapbooking as the weeks go by, those photos that I see are linked to memories. I love that. When I get behind, I feel like some memories get a little lost along with whatever photo I took to document it. I'll keep saying it: I'm soooo  thankful for the DayOne app. I document our days there and add a photo if I have one for that day. Then when I'm able to sit down and scrapbook, I have the stories to go with the photos. It's the best!

I haven't been in love with this year's theme - if you can even call it that. While I love simple and black and white, I've been feeling the need for a little spiffing up. Since I'm doing one week on one page instead of two, I don't have any extra blocks for paper. My only real option is adding it to the heading block. I'll at least start there and go back a few weeks to add paper to those headings. I'm also not 100% sold on one page for one week. Sometimes I just want the photos without much story on the actual photo. I miss having blocks for the stories. Sooo...I may make even more changes. I'll have to think about it a little more. It would mean kind of starting the year over again, but it's doable. I fall a little into a comparison trap of comparing myself to other scrapbookers that I admire. I love how they do things, how they take pictures, how they are creative. While I still want to be me, I still want to keep changing and making my layouts better and how I see them in my mind.

I love that if I decide to change things in a bigger way, it doesn't cost me anything but time since it's all done on the computer. That's another perk of digital scrapbooking. It's my fave!

Project Life 2019: Weeks 5-6

I'm slowly plugging away. Here a little, there a little. I'm so thankful for the Day One app on my phone where I jot down what we do each day so that when I go back to scrapbook, my memory gets refreshed!

Project Life 2019: Weeks 3-4

For the past few years, I've either used our Christmas family photo or individual photos of each family member for my cover page. Timing got off this year so I wasn't able to stick with that. Since I am the main photographer, I'm not in front of the camera often, hence my first 2019 Project Life appearance in week four! Haha!

Project Life 2019: Cover Page and Weeks 1-2

Did you ever think I was coming back?! Wow! This has been the latest I've ever started a Project Life year. Life has been busy and time I would normally spend scrapbooking has been taken up with building my business. I've really missed scrapbooking and have been really happy to devote some time to it recently.

For most weeks, I'm planning one page instead of the two page spread I've done for years. If the layout allows during busy weeks, I'll add more photos in for a two-page spread. I love photos so much and feel "the more, the merrier", so we'll see how I do scaling back.

I've kept the same layout as last year: Template A with square corners. I changed up the font. Last year I used three, this year I'm using two. Keeping it simple!

Without further ado, here is my 2019 cover page and weeks 1 and 2!

Project Life 2018: Week 52

Wow, you guys! I completed 2018 Project Life! Yay!
Honest moment: I feel like I was lacking in creativity when completing the last few weeks. Normally  I add more for the Christmas theme, but I ended up keeping it simple. I had lots of photos to use anyway, so that helped.

I'm so thankful for all that God saw us through in 2018. Even though the start of a new year is just one day different, I love the feeling of a fresh start.

I've been thinking about how I want to approach 2019 and I'm still not 100% settled. I've loved having weekly spreads as photos allow, so I'll probably stick to what I have been doing. I've thought of doing one page per week (a two week spread). I've done that throughout the years here and there if I didn't have enough photos. I know I have too many photos to do a monthly two page spread. Plus, this is my only form of scrapbooking, so I figure I'll go "all in" with weekly spreads.

I'm going to do a little perusing for some ideas and see what I come up with.

Choosing fonts is fun. I'll be choosing a font for the week number and dates and a font for journaling (two fonts). Last year I used three and I'd actually like to simplify that.

I enjoyed having a quote each week with the date, so I may continue that. I love quotes.

It's so great to be able to customize my scrapbooks according to what I like and enjoy.

Here's to 2019!

Project Life 2018: Week 51

The colors in this post don't seem too Christmas-y, but that's how it played out this week. :) Don't you love Leah's picture? So funny!

Project Life 2018: Week 50

Little by little, I'm wrapping up Project Life 2018. This week includes two spreads because we had our family Christmas at our house.

Project Life 2018: Week 49

This was another week that turned unexpected with my mom going to the hospital. I feel like I need 2019 to regroup from all the craziness that 2018 brought us. Through it all, God is good and has taken care of us.

Project Life 2018: Week 48

This week contains two spreads because it features our oldest becoming a teenager! What?! And also...twinkle lights! ♥

Project Life 2018: Week 47

This was a crazy week with my dad in the hospital but it ended well with him being home, safe, and able to heal. ♥ This has been one crazy year.

Project Life 2018: Week 46

I love taking pictures of the sun shining on the snow and ice. This week provided such an opportunity. Plus, we got our Christmas tree!

Project Life 2018: Weeks 43 - 44

Photos were rather sparse for these two weeks but it worked out to get two weeks caught up in one layout.

Project Life 2018: Week 42

Fall seems to be flying by. Lots going on with not enough down time.
