First Digital Page

I hardly know my way around Photoshop, but this is the result of a little playing around and only being able to work with the few things that I *do* know how to do. It was fun and I can't wait to learn how to add more to my pages!

Sugars and Cutters

I went to a cake shop to buy some colored sugar for decorating Christmas cookies. Growing up we always used just red and green, but I always liked how my grandma used different colors. So this year I went out to buy some. It was a great deal too! Each little 4 oz. bag was $1.09. They also had a BIG assortment of cookie cutters that were also $1.09! I was so excited! The bell and music note are almost the exact same as some cutters we had when we were growing up (which have since come up missing). I was so happy to find these!

Homemade Christmas Ornament

My friend, Jessica, passed along a Christmas ornament idea that she found here. Here is another link for more ideas that showcase large hanging ornaments.

My paper cut into 1 inch strips.

The directions on one of the sites called for eyelets, and since I didn't have any, I used staples, which I saw that the other used. After putting one together, I didn't like that the inside strips were white on one side and patterned on the other. So, I adhered two strips together. But because the stapler couldn't staple 14 strips, my ornament didn't stay together for very long.

Here is one showing the inside with white on one half and colored on the other. I didn't think it was too attractive. So I played around with it some more....

Part 2

A finished ornament. I alternated the strips so that no matter what angle you looked at it, you could see patterned and white paper.

I was going to hang them on our tree, but wanted to try something new and hung them over our dining room table. I like them there and the kids do too. I used white thread to hang them.

Thanksgiving Scrapbook

I have never really liked scrap booking Thanksgiving or Christmas pictures because they normally turn out awkward. But I saw some fun ideas in the November Creating Keepsakes magazine that really made me want to do a Thanksgiving scrap book. Also, I had never been interested in making a mini album, but lo and behold, that's what I'm doing! I am planning to buy an 8x8 ring album to put everything in. Below is a variety of things that will be going in the book. You'll find coloring pages, hand print turkey, family history pages, 3x3 cards for sisters and cousins and others at Thanksgiving. It was a lot of fun putting it together. I'm so thankful to have gotten every one's answers and am appreciative of their willingness to cooperate with me! Once the book is complete, I will post all of the pages which will include pictures from Thanksgiving, our food, playing games, and people answering their questions.

Colored by Titus.

Colored by me with scribbles from Leah.

Originally started by Leah and finished by me.

I traced each of our hands onto different papers to create a "turkey". I always loved doing this as a kid!

Questions / Grandma

I made little 3x3 cards with questions for random people to fill out. You can click on the pictures to read the cards if you want to see them better.

I wanted to do a quick family tree / information gathering project for my scrapbook, so I rounded up some questions for different ones to answer. My grandma had the most questions. These are the front and backs of her pages. Some wanted me to retype their answers, but I told them no and that I was also doing this to get their answers in their own handwriting.

Zoo / Kids

The last of the zoo pages. I really didn't like doing this pages for some reason. None of them came out like I hoped or planned.

I got the "S08" (Smith) from Ali Edward's pages. I printed out "siblings" and hand wrote the definition.

Sunday, Part 1 - 10.05.08

This is the last day of the project. It's been fun capturing different things that happen. Although this happened to be a busier week than most, it was still a week in our life. I'm happy that I did it and I know I will cherish these memories down the road as I already do now.

Doritos

My CUPboard. I so love having a mismatched collection of mugs. Each day I can pick something new - whatever I'm in the mood for.

Sunday afternoon football. (Don't mind those "Losing Lions", as I call them.)

More laundry!! Brandon did three loads. This will save me from doing laundry tomorrow on my cleaning day.

Sunday, Part 2

Laying down for a Sunday nap.

Titus' guitar that he plays everyday. As someone recently said, "It looks like he's been to quite a few world tours!" It's true, it's "dinged" up.

Leah's snack.

Dinner! We had a rather big lunch (leftovers) after we got home from church, so we had pop corn around 8.
