Bath / Circles

"Bathing Booties", haha! I saw that phrase online and loved it! You know, "Bathing Beauties"...

Once again, I saw the circle idea in a magazine using a hole punch. I cut out a few templates and then slowly and carefully laid each punch down. I was just using my fingers and that ended up getting too sticky. Midway through all of it, I got out some tweezers and that worked great! This is just a picture of the two page layout. Below is each page by itself.

I've really liked the look of ripped paper lately!

This "white" paper was actually paper that wasn't "me", so I used the backside (white) and painted with light blue. So today's lesson (haha) is, if you don't like a certain patterned paper, use the back! That's what I did for both of these pages.

Leah and Winter

I made a few of my own snowflakes.

I really liked the paint and the two papers, but I had a really hard time laying the pictures out. After painting around each picture, it really pulled it together for me.

I was worrying about Leah's purple hat and how I could use it on Christmas paper. Then I realized I had paper with purple ornaments!

Family

These were the pictures in our Christmas cards for 2007 and all of the "journals" are our Christmas letter.

This layout was from a magazine. I know it looks real simple, but I like it. I also like the tied ribbons. I hadn't done that before. Ha!

4 Pages for Today

On this page and the next, there is a glare on the pictures from the flash. All of my pictures are clear...I wouldn't scrap them otherwise! ;-)

Cowboy Ty

I love this cowboy theme and the paper!! While I was doing this page, I was listening to country music and I was just in such a fun mood. Now I just need to look out my window and see a rolling country side with horses grazing! *dreaming* Oh yeah, this idea was taken from something I found in a magazine. I'm so thankful for ideas (from other people)!!

2 More B-day Pages

Titus' first birthday page is in a previous post. I ran out of photo stickers as I was almost done with this page, so after buying some more, I was able to finish it up today.

Third birthday page.

4 Pages 4 Today

A very simple page. I had lots of pictures from Thanksgiving and wanted to have them on not very many pages.

Christina and I!!

I had another birthday page I was working on but I ran out of photo stickers!! *sniff*

Friend and Family

I've seen pages in magazines where they put the journals as the border so I thought I'd try it.

I saw this layout in a scrapbook magazine. I used staples in a few places. The word "family" was printed when I had the photo printed (thanks Elements!).

Kellers / Teeth

I fanned a brush for the white specks on the black paper and painted around the pictures.

I saw this idea in a magazine. I drew the tooth and cut it out. I *think* it looks like a tooth.

Titus and Isaac

I painted the white paper with green and blue paint...each color in a different direction. This page changed lots of time.

Coloring

I took a paint brush and then fanned it with my finger to get the little paint markings on the blue paper. It was fun, but not all of the paint went on the paper. Ha!

Today

This page was hard. I didn't know what to put on it or what to really say. I didn't have any more of the turquoise paper. So I drew some letters (MEN), cut them out, and then painted them. I was able to mix paint and almost come out with a perfect match! I was proud of myself for that. Ha!

I really like how this page turned out. I tried a few different things, as always. The circles were actually from a paper with those all over it. Rather than use the whole sheet as the background, I cut out lots of the circles to make them go where *I* wanted. I really like the color combo - mixing the two patterns. I'm into green right now for some reason. It just feels so fresh and clean. Call me crazy!

Christina Tagged Me!

Christina tagged me and here are the rules that I must (at least *try*) to follow:
  • Link your tagger and list these rules on your blog
  • Share 7 facts about yourself on your blog, some random, some weird.
  • Tag 7 people at the end of your post by leaving their names as well as links to their blogs.
  • Let them know they have been tagged by leaving a comment on their blog.
7 Facts about Myself:

#1: I wear socks so my feet won't sweat.
#2: I like to dip corn chips in miracle whip.
#3: I long to live in a home that's in the country but not too far from the city...maybe also near mountains and water (Hey, it can be done!).
#4: I've been to India three times.
#5: Our son has my husband's middle name and our daughter has my middle name.
#6: I fell out of a second story window before I was two.
#7: I'm the 30th great-grandchild of my great-grandma Angeline DuRussel. My son is the 18th great-great and my daughter is the 27th great-great.

As far as tagging goes, I have only been on one person's blog outside of people I know...Elsie. I'm just now starting to look at other people's blogs for ideas.

New Pages

This page was started weeks ago but I realized I didn't print the top right picture - one I *had* to put on this page. So I waited until I got all of my new pictures. They came yesterday and I got right to work - after the kids took their nap, that is. I changed this layout so many different times and ended up with this one. At the very bottom, I included 3 things that happened that month...#1: Leah laughed when tickled on Oct 3, #2: She turned 4 months old, and #3: She rolled over from her back to her belly on Oct 18. In my son's first year book (ahem, I'm on Leah's second book for her first year!), I put a page in the back of the things he accomplished and when. Now I'm trying to include them as they happen, near pictures of them at the age they were.

I'm not too keen on this page...we all know what happens when I feel that way...it'll probably get redone! Ha!

Something New

I was looking through a scrap magazine and came across stitching (by hand) on scrap paper. So I thought I would give it a try. I took a piece of paper that I didn't really like the color of...but now that I've put the work into it, I think I'm going to try to use this paper! It was fun!

I drew an outline with pen, so you can see that some. This was my first, experimental flower.

My Paper

It's been a while since I've posted anything on this blog. I just ordered a bunch of pictures (since I ran out) and just today I bought all this paper. I think differently now when I buy paper. I'm trying to change things and have been enjoying it. I no longer look at a page and think that's the only paper for a page layout. It makes me more aware of what's out there and paper I would have otherwise passed by. It's fun trying new things and thinking out of the box!
