Project Life 2017: Week 17

Some weeks I'm just not thrilled with photo quality or angles. This was one of those weeks, but I worked with what I had. I can't exactly say what I'm not a fan of. There's just a "feel" I'm hoping for and I didn't reach it.

Project Life 2018: Week 16

I'm really enjoying the simplicity of sticking to the same layout template each week. With baseball season currently upon us, I'm wondering how that'll work. I normally like to include an enlarged vertical picture of Titus in his uniform. We'll see if I break the cycle!

Project Life 2018: Week 15

Something I've never done before that I decided on last minute is adding the day and time that the pictures were taken. It's nothing mind blowing, but it's a fun little addition for this week's spread.

I've been thinking about new things I could add to my documenting. The first has been jotting down childhood memories that come to mind and any story that accompanies it. Lately it's been stories having to do with my grandma. Those stories are coming in future spreads. The other thing I've thought of adding is recipes. That idea came from a "Grandma Story" that will be featured in a future spread. But it's a story I've already jotted down in my DayOne app where I give a little snippet of what happens each day.

To sum it all up, my childhood stories and recipes will be featured more. I'm excited! And maybe I'll even be able to add in some photos of when I was a kid. That'll make it even more fun.

Project Life 2018: Week 14

I haven't been able to scrapbook for a few days due to some computer problems, but I'm back up and running again. Yay! Scrapbooking is my main creative outlet and when I'm unable to work on it when I want to, I feel trapped. Ha!

Project Life 2011: Weeks 30-31

When doing spreads from years past, I reference our family blog that I used to regularly update. I find things the kids said and details of what we did. However, I have found a handful of pictures where I wish I had documented what was going on. For instance, I don't have the kids playing with the bike (pictured below) on my blog. I know they gave their contraption a funny name, but none of us can remember it. It's at times like this where it makes me really thankful for my DayOne app that I update for each day of the year. I've been using it since I started Project Life in 2014. I can add photos to the journal entries, tag things for easier reference, etc. I also jot down things the kids say. It's been such a great tool for memory keeping.

Project Life 2011: Week 29

When I work on spreads from past years, I'm normally calling the kids to come see pictures of themselves. My goodness. SO CUTE.

This week has two spreads because on one of the days we went to Chicago. I took a lot of photos and wanted to include a lot, so I went for the double spread.

Project Life 2018: Week 13

Most times if I'm out and about, I use my phone camera to take pictures instead of bringing my big camera along. The downside to that is poor photo and color quality. It was bugging me on some pictures this week. I tried a few things to adjust it and I just wasn't happy. Then I decided it was black and white to the rescue! It made me feel better. And that's what counts, right? ;)

Project Life 2018: Week 12

This week had a sad story about my grandma, but I wanted to include it because it is part of our story.

Project Life 2011: Week 28

I skipped weeks 26 and 27 for 2011 because I don't have pictures for those dates. I'm really baffled by that because that means I didn't take any pictures during the fourth of July. Humph. I know I wasn't in a regular habit of documenting our day to day lives at that time in my life. I'm sure thankful for it now!

Project Life 2018: Week 11

When I got the free "embrace the details" digital brush, I wondered where I would use it. Honestly, I don't like detours to my plans. Eck. However, we did have a detour this week and had no other choice but to roll with it. Titus was a super big help!

Project Life 2018: Week 10

We are in the double-digit weeks of 2018 already! Sometimes I'm confused on which month we are in. But when I realize it's March, and nearing the end of the month, it really feels like this year is flying by already.

Project Life 2018: Week 9

These are pictures from my birthday week! Michigan weather sure is funny. We enjoyed a few days of warmer temps only to be met with inches of fresh snow.

Project Life 2018: Week 8

For this week, I used repeating arrows to tie in that theme.

The picture of the Valentines was taken this week even though Valentines should have gone with last week. But I got over my tendency that certain pictures need to go with the dates of the topic. I just said, "oh well, I'm using this week anyhow." It's still documenting something I saw for this week.

Project Life 2018: Week 7

Photos and stories and snow round out this week. We keep getting snow, having it melt and feel like spring, and then it snows 5 inches again. I guess we are still in winter. It is pretty.

Project Life 2011: Weeks 24-25

It's nice to work on some green, summer photos while also scrapbooking current snowy pictures.

All of the photos except one were taken on the same day. It was such a fun day of picking berries with my Grandma. And honestly, I'm sure it was the last. So yay! for all of the pictures.

Project Life 2011: Week 24

As it turns out, the only pictures taken during this week were of Leah's birthday.
