Project Life 2011: Weeks 24-25

It's nice to work on some green, summer photos while also scrapbooking current snowy pictures.

All of the photos except one were taken on the same day. It was such a fun day of picking berries with my Grandma. And honestly, I'm sure it was the last. So yay! for all of the pictures.

As it turns out, the only pictures taken during this week were of Leah's birthday. 

Project Life 2011: Week 23

Years ago, I was working on scrapbooking these photos as individual pages: each event/day had its own page. Since I'm going back and filling in the spaces using the Project Life template, I'm choosing not to keep the layouts I previously made. I won't be printing them since I have these spreads now, so it saves space not to keep them. I look them over to see if I added some info that our family blog didn't include, and then I delete it. It feels weird to delete something that I did take time to create, but in the end, this is the style I love and am moving forward with for the years I'm behind on.

Memories are awesome! I'm trying not to keep so many photos from a certain event or day because that ends up being overkill with decision fatigue (which picture do I choose?) and computer space. I've been deleting unnecessary ones and that feels good.

Project Life 2018: Week 6

I was lacking some photos so I ended up deviating from my plan of sticking to the same layout every week. It was on the second page. I ended up going with six 4x6s. I had a decent amount of journaling on one picture and then thought, "You know, I could make it work in the regular template and use open squares for journaling". So in the end, I didn't deviate at all. It allows for simplicity and cohesion. At least that's what I tell myself. ;)

Project Life 2011: Week 22

It's always fun looking back at photos. The pictures in this spread are from two days. While I can look back at our family blog to get some info, I was missing info on the "why" behind my parents and sister's visit. Regardless, I have photos to document.

I'm super thankful for my DayOne app where I jot down what we do each day. I've been doing that since the beginning of 2014. For anything prior to that, I refer back to our blog. Documenting really is important. Even if it's just one to two sentences to summarize your day. And if you have a photo to go with it, even better. It's all part of preserving memories.

Project Life 2018: Week 4-5

Here I am with another two week spread which now makes me all caught up! That's a big deal! I was pretty behind not too long ago. I'm excited to go back to working on 2011 during the times I'm current with 2018.

Becky Higgins, creator of Project 52, documents her recipes and other family recipes. She does a spread including the instructions, ingredients, and photos. I think that's a pretty cool thing to pass down. The featured cheesecake and sauce sparked that idea. ;)

Project Life 2018: Cover Page and Week 1

Scrapbooking of 2018 has officially commenced! Yay! 

For our cover page, I thought it would be fun to add a few Q&As. 

I didn't find a weekly stamp but I did find a font that will work perfect. For this year, I wanted the numerals for the weeks versus words. I also settled on two other fonts: one for quotes and one for journaling.

Here's to a year full of memories!

Week One:

Project Life 2017: Week 52

2017 is now complete! It's really an amazing feeling to have the whole year scrapbooked! There is technically a spread that Titus will do from our nature walk in the fall, but all of my scrapbooking for 2017 is done. Any big events, lots of stories, birthdays...it's all in there. 

I really like the start of the new year. Not because of resolutions and stuff like that, but just the feeling of fresh. New. I'm excited to see what this coming year's stories will tell.

I have a little work to do before starting 2018. I have to decide on a journal font and either make my own weekly stamp or find one online. I'm hoping to find one online that I like. 

I'm thankful to the Lord for His abundant faithfulness in our lives during 2017! Cheers to 2018!

Project Life 2017: Week 51

It may seem bad, but I'm happy to have this week scrapped and am looking forward to getting the next one done. Why? Because we got the flu over Christmas and I don't really like reliving it through pictures. We are all better now, thank the Lord!

Some weeks I think that I don't have many pictures to show for it. But then I gather both camera and phone pictures and realize I had more than I bargained for.

Project Life 2017: Week 48

Four more weeks to scrapbook for 2017! Yay! It feels so good to get caught up.

I remember when I first started Project Life and wondering how I could do this year after year and have different pictures to show for it. I felt like I would always be taking pictures of the same things. But I'm not. Sometimes certain things are repeated, but the stories aren't all the same, nor do we look the same. It's an ever-changing process. I love it.

Also included this week was Titus's birthday. I'm so happy to be able to use Project Life to easily document it!

Project Life 2017: Week 47

Do you ever have times of the year where you just don't care for the photos? I'm not exactly sure why, but that's how I feel with end of year/beginning of year photos. Not all of the photos, but most of them. Maybe it's the colors, angles, or something like that. I'll just try to better myself at photo taking and see if that helps. 

In the meantime, here's the layout for the week of Thanksgiving. None of us too many photos during Thanksgiving. I guess we were too busy visiting with everyone. :)

Only six more weeks of 2017 to scrapbook! It's been mighty cold here lately. Winter is surely here!

Earlier in the week, the barn across the road was up and by the end of the week, it was down. I'm so glad that I've documented it all these years.
