Monday Pages

I saw this template on ListGirl and thought it would be fun to do with my own pictures from 2009. I made two calendars for our parents for Christmas using pictures from 2009 but didn't have any of my own to showcase for the year. So this was my perfect opportunity. It took a few days to put together because of having to stop many times. It was fun and I'm glad I did it.

This page I created today. I don't normally use journal cards. I like them but feel like I don't know how to use them. I'm hoping this journal card fits in a looks good with everything else. Normally in my pages, all of my papers are "matchy matchy" but I like using papers that don't match color for color. These colors - yellow, green and blue - are all in the same palate, so they work for me!

This past weekend I had my cousins over for a couple of nights. Both nights they sat down and were looking through my old scrapbooks. I looked through the books as they did and realized - again - how simple is "me"/my style. I noticed how pictures and the stories that accompany them were and what still are my main focus.

Now I'm off to making some cheesy broccoli soup!

Park

I think I like this page. I decided to go with somewhat of a school theme because of kids but also because of the memories I have of going there as a kid in school.

Dairy Store

I think these are fun pictures and I love all the colors in them. I really like the blue and green combo. It feels so fresh and clean!

Old & New

I was scanning through my blog the other day and it came to the old pictures I posted months ago. I totally forgot that I had the Christmas cookie pictures and right away I knew I wanted to scrap them NOW. So I did and it was fun. Part of this layout was inspired by Christina's layout (I'm thankful scraplifting is legal!). The pictures aren't the clearest, but I still love them!

These pictures were taken just the other night. We've been having hot chocolate about once a week or sometimes more and I wanted to document it. I know I'm happy to come across pictures of me when I was little when we did fun things as a family, so I have to believe my kids will thank me later. ;)

Sept - Dec

These are the last four pages of my project. I'm happy to have done both projects (calendars for both sides of my family) yet I'm very happy to have them completed. I've really missed "normal" scrapbooking and can't wait to get back to it!

Here is the November page for my parent's project. Part of the layout was inspired by my friend's layout. :)

Globe Ball Ornament

I have been wanting to make this ornament but never found the directions (or took too much time to find them). But today I saw it on this site and had to try it! I really like the idea of making multiple ornaments and putting them in a display bowl. So festive!

The top, bottom and center semi put together.

The top and middle together.

No, Titus doesn't wear glasses. I found an old pair of mine that was missing a lens, so I took the lens out and let the kids wear them.

I used a circle cutter but if you have a circle punch, that would be awesome too. I also cut out a triangle and traced on the back of each circle so I knew where to fold.

The finished product! I used photo mounting squares for my adhesive rather than glue. It seemed to work pretty well. I might make a few changes with the next ones I make. I found another project that I really want to do! I just have to get a few supplies first!

Playlist Options

I have created and added my "Christmas Cheer" playlist, however it is not set on auto-play. I will change that setting after Thanksgiving. Both playlists are and will still be available. Just scroll to the bottom to choose which one you would like to listen to! Happy listening!

Hands and Feet Turkey

The kids and I did this little craft of a turkey using their foot prints as the body and their hands as the feathers. I think they turned out cute!

See his eye poking through?

Because I didn't want all (my) hard work ripped apart, I put them on the dining room window. Such festive little birds - which we also see in our front yard quite often!

More

These three pages are also for my project.

These pics might look familiar. I changed the background because I wasn't sold on it. You'll find the older one a few posts back.

Life

Sometimes I have a hard time deciding which pictures to scrap and which ones not to scrap. I almost didn't use these ones for reasons I'm not 100% sure of. But the story of Brandon and Jack is a funny one and I love having the kids in pictures with their Great-Grandma. So those are perfect reasons for scrapping them!

Photos + Stories

It was fun doing a page where both Leah and I are about the same age! I love the stories documented. That's what I like focusing on anyway - the stories and the pictures. Sometimes I struggle trying to find the right elements to compliment them, but it's all a learning process and I try to enjoy that journey. I truly enjoy scrapbooking and getting out pictures and stories in a book. Not too many made up words make it in the stories of "days gone by", so I'm more than happy to tell our stories of goofy words!

3 Pages

Lately I've been working on a family project and these three pages are part of it. This was my second attempt with these pictures. I had previously posted a page using these pictures but never like it. So I changed it and came up with this.

Because of the project, a lot of pictures are used for each page so it's been a little bit of a challenge trying to find or come up with layouts that best display the pictures.

Playlist Info

I just wanted to give a little info for those of you who have a Playlist on your blog. If you add the gadget to your right side bar, it will cut off half of the view of the playlist making you and your visitors unable to scroll through songs or put your playlist on a shuffle. If you put your playlist gadget at the bottom of your layout, it will be full size, allowing you and your visitors to see the artists and scroll through your music, etc. I just thought I would pass this along!
