Trash ----> Treasure

I'm pretty much down to scrap paper ("scrap" as in, leftovers) or paper I don't like. So, it gave me a little challenge in creating something I liked. There was a little left on one side, so I cut a strip off.

I haven't been able to use this paper since I bought it. It never went with anything in a way that I liked. Then today, I realized the back of the paper was a pale green! So with the strip from the one flowered paper and the back of this paper, I started creating.

Final result. I cut down the blue/purple paper to a size I wanted and then printed on it. I was going to use ribbon but I ended up just using thin black strips of paper for the little accents. I really like how this page turned out. It can be fun - with a good attitude - to create something out of scraps or something you thought you didn't like. This layout is actually a combo of two of Christina's pages...using one word ("two") and "crooked" pictures. I'm so thankful for people who come up with great ideas and that scrap lifting is legal!!

This is just a view of my scrapping area. Ha! It's actually quite "cozy" once you're into it. Someday I hope to have my own scrap room.

This layout was inspired by Christina's page (third one down)

Cut me a slice of that Cutie Pie!

Haha, I came up with that little line (at least I hope I did....not like naming someone "Christina" for the first time in 1982). I really like that font too. It's called Honey Script.

Outside

I did the kids hand prints in April and this was the best page for Titus' prints. I love them! I will always cherish these and am thankful we'll be able to look back at the history of his hands! ;)

Rockford, Laugh

The picture quality is really bad because the pictures were taken on a MAC computer, emailed and then printed. Ha! But I HAD to print them because of the hilarious memories.

Circles and Paper

I don't know if I like how this turned out, but I always like the bubble wrap effect!

My new paper (minus regular card stock) that I bought at the store last night. This *should* be all I need to finish up pictures through April. I'm trying to get caught up!

25

I don't think I've used a single letter (like the "r" on this page) before. I always wonder if people will know what I'm referring to. Ha! I decided to try it on this page to, of course, represent my name "r"ebekah. I think I like it. I love the circles too. I added the big one in the middle and the two on either side before I finished the page. It's amazing how those three circles pulled the two corners of circles together.

Family

When I did these little designs with the hole punches, I kept thinking I had to wipe them off my page! Thankfully, they are glued down now.

8 Months

This was the only page I got done for the day. These pictures are some of my favorites!

Nap Time

Part of this idea (the circles and butterflies) came from a layout I saw in the August CK magazine. I didn't have any butterflies, so I cut some out of the magazine and traced them onto paper. It seemed to work.

Black and White

I've had "Scrappers Block" lately. I've wanted to scrap but haven't felt very creative. I sat down 1-2 times to scrap these pictures before finally completing a page. I like the idea of just black and white although I have one color picture. I haven't used my own handwriting in a scrap book in a long time. I don't really like the look of it, but I guess it stays.

Bubble Wrap

On this page and the page below, I painted bubble wrap and then "stamped" it on the paper. I like the look it gives!

2 Pages

I saw something in my new CK magazine where they kind of did free hand painting. So I tried something I hadn't before. It was fun. I used two different brushes and my fingers. It's different but it was fun.

Free to be Me!

Because I do my scrapping while my kids are sleeping, there can tend to be a rushed feeling with it. "Will they wake up?" "How many pages can I get done while they sleep?" Also, in scrapping magazines, there are articles like "10 Pages You Can Do In 15 Minutes". These different things run through my mind during my "me time". I want to use my time wisely and get done what I can, yet at the same time, I want to enjoy what I'm doing! So, I'm now changing my scrapping ideals of how much I can do in one sitting. Now I'm enjoying the process more. And while doing that, I get more ideas! If I get only one page done in a day, yeah! , at least it's one page more than I had the day before. I'm encouraged to realize I don't have to move at a fast pace. I can turn my music on, drink my coffee and truly enjoy scrapping! I'm free to do whatever I want in the pace I want!
